- Summarize your past work experience
I have been self employed for most of my working life and in 1993 began providing PA services to celebrity clients, including Chris Tarrant and Gabby Logan. My work also included event management and organising charity balls. Along with working with clients and organising events, I also managed my own buy-to-let portfolio.
In 2009 I trained in NLP, clinical hypnotherapy and life coaching and in 2011 I qualified as a Lightning Process practitioner. I went on to work with many people over the next four years, helping them to overcome limiting beliefs and get their life back on track.
In 2015 I launched The Business of Mums – a website connecting women for business.

Starting and running a business is a steep learning curve for anyone, but when you also have to juggle it with being a full-time mum, the challenge can feel overwhelming. With only so many hours in a day, it can be hard to find answers to your questions or to even know the questions you should be asking.
That?s why I created The Business of Mums, an online portal dedicated to providing step-by-step, easily accessible information on everything, from starting a business to juggling it with family life. With its inspiring stories of success and tips on staying motivated, it focuses on connecting with others and looking after yourself.
When as a single mum I first entered the world of self-employment in 1993, I thought I could ?do it all?. Wanting to be a good role model for my daughter, I ran a full-time business organising events and offering personal-assistant services to celebrity clients. I built and managed my own property portfolio, and I was always the one organising the school fair and running the tuck shop! However, by 2006, I had burnt out and was ill.
Having finally got back to full health and recognising the trend in women wanting to work for themselves, I wanted to share my experiences and knowledge in the hope that I could help others. I certainly no longer believe you can ‘do it all’. Or why you would want to! Much better to be kind to yourself and be the best you that you can be.
The Business of Mums is a thriving community where like-minded people can come together and collaborate, share skills and insights, exchange ideas, and ask for support, feedback, or a business introduction.
